WEDDING INVITATIONS + STATIONERY
With the current trend towards bespoke weddings, where handmade details large and small create a unique and memorable event, the invitation is one of the first elements of your wedding where you can set your style for the day. Of course your invitation needs to include certain details, such as the time, date, location and dress code of your wedding, (information such as maps, stamped addressed RSVP envelopes or recommendations for accommodation are additional courtesies which are entirely up to you to include), but after that the sky is the limit. Whether you make your own invitations by hand or work with a design company, invitations offer an almost endless scope of ideas and are a great way to stamp your individuality on your event, as well as giving your guests the first hint of what the day will hold.
Working with a designer allows you to create something unique with a professional finish, as they will also manage the production of your entire suite from invitations to name tags to thank you cards. In these days of increased environmental awareness you may wish to consider using recycled paper for your invites, but don’t feel that this will limit your options. There are some excellent papers available with either partial or complete recycled content which still possess a smooth white finish, although traditional recycled or handmade papers are an unusual alternative for your invitations and can fit perfectly with a more casual or rustic style wedding. Embossing, die cut shapes or edging, foiling and raised print are all elements which add interest to the overall design of your invites, so speak to your designer about what’s available and have fun - whether it’s a simple card or a lavishly boxed set of instructions scattered with rose petals, your invitation is the key to your wedding, so it’s important to get it right.
