TOAST Mornington Peninsula - Your ultimate wedding and celebration guide

Ceremony Venues

There are more options than ever when it comes to choosing a location for your ceremony, with outdoor weddings gaining in popularity every year. For some couples it may be as easy as holding a simple exchange of vows at the reception venue, whereas others may wish to celebrate a full religious mass. Whatever you choose, the Mornington Peninsula once again offers a variety of beautiful locations, including historic stone churches, formal gardens, rolling vineyards and of course our majestic natural scenery.

While many of our public spaces are free to use, you may wish to register your intentions with local council to make sure that you won’t be interrupted, either by another group using the same space or by scheduled maintenance in the area. Local wedding suppliers are also a great resource when it comes to finding that special place you’re looking for. Ask around and you may discover a secret gem you never knew existed! When it comes to decoration, let the venue dictate your style. A backdrop of glorious gum trees or rolling ocean really needs no adornment, while a rustic space filled with flowers and candles is a romantic alternative. Having a marquee at your outdoor location is a smart idea in case of inclement weather – just check with local council for permission first. Seating for your guests, especially the older ones, is a thoughtful gesture, especially if your ceremony is a long one and, if you choose to have photographs taken after the ceremony, providing refreshments for your guests to enjoy will help them to fill the time between ceremony and reception, as well as giving them the chance to appreciate their surroundings.

So gather your guests, make your entrance and celebrate your vows – it’s a beautiful day (or evening) to get married on the Mornington Peninsula.
